I had set a goal to read twenty books in a year. I was determined to do it. The challenge was to find time. I had a responsibility to myself. I read before bed. I learned to appreciate many kinds of stories. The goal had a positive influence on my habits. It became a tradition to set a reading goal. My community was my family and friends who read. I had achieved the goal. I had discovered that I loved to read. I would never forget the books I had read. The goal had taught me about commitment. I was grateful I had set it.
