My sister and I had a lemonade stand. We made lemonade from a mix. We added water and sugar. We put it in a big pitcher. We set up a table at the end of our driveway. We made a sign. We wrote Lemonade 50 cents. We sat and waited. Gradually people came. They bought cups of lemonade. They said it was good. We sold out by noon. We had made twenty dollars. We had discovered that we could earn money. We had to work for it. We had to be patient. The experience was fun. We had considered giving up when nobody came at first. But we had waited. The opportunity had been there. People had come. We split the money. We each had ten dollars. I was exhausted from the heat. But I was proud. We had run a magnificent stand. We said we would do it again. The lemonade stand had taught us about hard work. I would never forget it.
