Our neighbors went on vacation. They asked me to take care of their rabbit. I was excited. I had never had a pet. I went to their house twice a day. I gave the rabbit fresh water. I gave it food and hay. I cleaned the cage. The rabbit was soft. It had long ears. I talked to it. I read my book while it hopped around. When our neighbors came home they said thank you. They said the rabbit looked happy. I had discovered that taking care of an animal is a big responsibility. Perhaps one day I could have a pet of my own. I had learned to be dependable. The adventure of pet sitting was fun. I was sad to say goodbye to the rabbit. But I was proud of the job I had done. Our neighbors said they would ask me again. I said yes right away.
