The Three-Fifths Compromise was another important agreement made at the Constitutional Convention. It dealt with how slaves would be counted when determining a stateโ€™s population. Southern states wanted to count slaves to have more representatives in Congress. The compromise stated that each slave would count as three-fifths of a person. This helped balance the interests of both northern and southern states.
