Our town had an art show for students. I entered a painting. I was determined to do my best. The challenge was to finish on time. I had a responsibility to myself to try. I learned to appreciate how much practice art takes. The show had a positive influence on the town. People came to see the work. It became a tradition every spring. Our community was the artists and the viewers. We had achieved a beautiful show. I had discovered that art could bring people together. I would never forget seeing my painting on the wall. The art show had given me confidence. I was grateful for the opportunity.
