Dividing fractions means finding out how many times one fraction fits into another. To divide fractions, you can use a simple rule: multiply by the reciprocal. The reciprocal of a fraction is created by flipping the numerator and denominator. For example, to divide 1/2 by 1/4, you first find the reciprocal of 1/4, which is 4/1. Then, you multiply 1/2 by 4/1. This looks like: 1/2 ร— 4/1 = 4/2, which simplifies to 2. So, 1/2 divided by 1/4 equals 2. This means that 1/4 fits into 1/2 exactly two times!
