Idioms and adages are special phrases that have meanings different from their literal words. An idiom is a saying that doesnโ€™t make sense if you take it word for word. For example, when someone says, 'Itโ€™s raining cats and dogs,' they mean itโ€™s raining very heavily, not that animals are falling from the sky! An adage, on the other hand, is a wise saying that teaches a lesson, like 'A penny saved is a penny earned.' This means that saving money is just as valuable as earning it. Both idioms and adages make language more colorful and fun to use, helping us express ideas in a creative way.
