Transportation history tells us how people moved from one place to another over time. In the past, people walked or rode animals like horses. Then, they invented vehicles like boats and wagons. A big change happened in the 1800s when trains were introduced. Trains could carry many people and goods quickly across long distances. For example, the steam locomotive was a powerful engine that helped connect cities and towns, making travel and trade easier. As time went on, cars and airplanes were developed, which changed how we travel today.
