The Kindness Club

Lily and her friends started a kindness club. They met every Friday after school. They decided to do one kind thing each week. The first week they made cards for people at the nursing home. The second week they collected food for the food bank. The third week they picked up trash at the park. One day an elderly neighbor needed help with her garden. The club went to her house. They pulled weeds and watered the plants. The neighbor was so grateful. She told them they had made a difference. Lily felt proud. She had never thought a small club could do so much. Perhaps they would keep the club going all year. They made a list of more ideas. They wanted to help animals too. Maybe they could collect old towels for the animal shelter. The kindness club was becoming an adventure. Every week they discovered something new to do.
