My bicycle had a flat tire. I did not know how to fix it. I asked my dad. He said we could fix it together. We got the tools. We took the wheel off. We found the hole in the tube. We patched it. We put the tube back in the tire. We put the wheel back on the bike. We pumped up the tire. It held air. I had fixed my bike. I had discovered that I could learn to fix things. Perhaps next time I could do it alone. My dad said I had done a good job. I felt proud. The adventure of the broken bicycle had taught me something. I was not afraid of a flat tire anymore. I could handle it. I rode my bike around the block. It worked perfectly. I thanked my dad. He said that was what dads were for.
