In the United States, the government has three branches: the Legislative, the Executive, and the Judicial. The Legislative Branch makes the laws; it is made up of Congress, which has two parts: the Senate and the House of Representatives. The Executive Branch, led by the President, carries out the laws and manages the government. The Judicial Branch, which includes the Supreme Court, makes sure the laws follow the Constitution. For example, if Congress makes a new law, the President can sign it, but the Supreme Court can decide if it's fair.
