A line plot is a simple way to show data along a number line. Each dot or mark above a number shows how many times that number appears. For example, if you collected data on how many pets students have, and three students have 1 pet, two have 2 pets, and one has 3 pets, you would place three dots above the number 1, two dots above the number 2, and one dot above the number 3. This helps everyone see the information quickly and easily!
