European exploration was a time when explorers from Europe traveled to new places around the world. They wanted to find new lands, trade routes, and treasures. One famous explorer, Christopher Columbus, sailed across the Atlantic Ocean in 1492 and discovered the Americas. These journeys helped people learn about different cultures and made trade between countries possible. Exploration changed the world by connecting people in ways they had never experienced before.
