The water cycle is the journey water takes as it moves from the ground to the sky and back again. It starts when the sun heats up water in rivers, lakes, and oceans, causing it to turn into vapor, which is called evaporation. This vapor rises into the air and cools down to form clouds through a process called condensation. When the clouds get heavy, they release water as rain or snow, known as precipitation. For example, when it rains, the water goes back to the ground, and the cycle starts all over again!
