Choose a landscape reference: a garden, a pond, a field. Sketch the main shapes lightly.

Use short, dabbing brushstrokes in pure colors—do not over-mix on the palette.

Place complementary colors side by side (blue next to orange, purple next to yellow) for vibrant effects.

Stand back from your painting frequently. From a distance, the separate strokes blend into a scene.
